TISSER, founded in 2015, has since been in the forefront in uplifting the livelihoods of rural women across Maharashtra. Through them there is an increase in girl-child education as there are two sources of income in a single household, now.
India has a diverse and distinct culture and has been blessed with abundant art forms. Each state has its own unique art form. All the art forms have evolved over the years. In most of the areas, these art forms are passed on from one generation to another.
Warli is one such art form from Maharashtra which is on the verge of extinction. However, it has gained popularity not only in India but globally also. Tisser is reviving Warli art form by training & hand-holding of rural women across Maharashtra. Till today almost fifty Warli products are being produced by Tisser and this is just the beginning.
Along with the United Nations Development Programme and Larsen & Toubro Infotech, Tisser has provided training & employment in twenty-one clusters in Warli, Terracotta, and Stitching. Tisser has a network of professional artists who have expertise in Warli painting. They train the women in all the clusters to make products independently and generate livelihood. Tisser is helping rural women gain confidence and give wings to their dreams.
In 2020, Tisser will launch an exclusive online store for home décor and home interior. The concept is to make Warli an integral part of every household.
Support Tisser in generating livelihoods and encourage girl-child education by buying products, which are hand-made. Your small contribution can make a big difference in the lives of these rural women entrepreneurs.
A big thank you in advance !!
